These stretchy gift wrap bags are as much of a gift as the gift inside. They are super easy to use, and will fit a variety of size items. They are rectangular in shape, but they work really well for variety of sizes due to the stretchiness of the bags. With square items, you simply tuck in the corners on the bottom. These bags are completely handmade in Okotoks, Alberta, Canada by a woman owned small home based business. I started making reusable gift wrap because my assistant and I were both tired of the bags and bags of gift wrap we would throw away every year. Did you know that unless you peel off all the tape and labels, gift wrap cannot be recycled? Unfortunately, with a family of five, I do not have the patience to remove every piece of tape to make the gift wrap recyclable. So I decided I needed a better solution that left me with zero guilt. Do you know how exciting it is to not have overflowing garbage cans after Christmas?!?

Our biggest concern was if the magic of Christmas would be gone forever for our kids if they couldn't rip and shred open their gifts. So, Sarah and I test ran using the gift wrap for Christmas 2020. We chose to only use the reusable gift wrap options (all of the styles), and let me tell you, your kids can get really creative wrapping gifts. Hands down, everyone liked not dealing with tape and scissors to wrap up gifts. But the real test was going to be Christmas morning...

Unexpectedly, we found that opening the gift bags and bonbon wraps actually took time, it slowed the unwrapping process and easily took just as long to get inside the gifts. Afterwards we both asked our kids if they missed the gift wrap ripping and shredding, and surprisingly not a single one did. They still truly enjoyed the unwrapping process.

Now let's talk about the investment of reusable gift wrap. Buying reusable gift wrap seems expensive initially, but really over the long run it's not. Take this set of 8, over 10 years and if you only used them for Christmas each bag only costs $1/year. In 10 years they will still look like new and you will continue to use them. You can change up the look by buying new ribbons for the following Christmas or special ribbons for birthdays, engagements and other celebrations.
